Fujifilm X30

NO, I didn't convert from Nikon to Fujifilm.

NO, I didn't change to a new system.

I'm still pretty much in love with my Nikon D7000 which I've been using since 2011. And I'm keeping it no matter what. 

I recently bought a Fujifilm X30 because I need a small camera. We booked air tickets to go for a one week holiday as a new family. Even if you try to dare me to bring my Nikon gears, I will just give up and lose the bet. I can't imagine carrying a 7kg baby in front and another 3-4kg of gears on a sling camera bag, and another diaper bag at my back. I think I'll need physiotherapy after that. 

I was looking at Fujifilm X100T initially, dreaming of it every day and night. But I ended up with X30. Plainly for one reason, $. I could buy two X30 if I bought X100T. X100T is even more expensive than my D7000. After I came into my senses, I chose X30. (I'm on non paid leave now, no money to spend on such luxury items!)

The dials

I have only tried to use it a few times now. I'm not gonna write a review for it, there are tonnes of it on the internet which covers everything in such professional way. (How did we buy gears years ago I wonder?)

I'll just tell you what I love of the camera. I love the Classic Chrome mode. One thing I hate about current modern cameras and all the fancy modes they provide. Seriously, they're useless to me. Except for this classic chrome. I miss the good old days, where we printed out our photos. They look simply fantastic. Classic Chrome creates the effect on your digital photos, which was nice in my opinion.

What I hate? The RAW FILE FORMAT!!!! ARGGGHHHHH!!!!!! Fujifilm uses a completely different raw file format than the others. My photoshop could not open it! I am currently using fujifilm software to edit but they're not as nice as photoshop. I'm seeking for solutions! If you have any suggestions, please help me!

I might regret some time down the road, that why I bought this but not the better X100T? I'll just keep reminding myself, it's double the price!

My New Toy

Last year December, I tried to make my own photo box to take pictures of objects and food. It wasn't great, mainly my craftsmanship was really bad. Besides, problem with mahjong papers, they turned yellow pretty fast. My photo box wasn't a good set up, I ended up throwing them away to recycle bin.

Not long after that, Kia Hooi informed me that there was promotion on Groupon. I hurried up and bought them. But damn, after I paid and excitedly waiting for the delivery of my virgin Groupon order, they've emailed me that it's out of stock and refunded me the money. I was pissed but I decided to watch out for other promotion.

And this month, I found one! Even better one because it's a full set: a photobox, with 4 backdrop colours, 2 tungsten lights and a mini stand for camera at $33.80! That's a better deal than the last one! I was skeptical but I bought them anyway!

Today, I've got my order! Yippy!

Second set up, I used my Ikea blanket as backdrop (please forgive me for the crumpled blanket). And I used the mini stand (which is not stable) for the better angle.

I played a few more setups but my battery went flat. So, I guess I can only continue tomorrow. With food perhaps.

Anyway, anybody can please advice me if I can iron the backdrop cloths that come with the set?

All in all, I'm satisfied with this purchase, I'm really glad I bought them and insisted to carry this set back home today to play with. Happy happy!

小小饭锅

上周末回家，妈妈叮嘱我把这个新玩意儿带回来。自从二月爸爸妈妈到新加坡来小住几天以后，妈妈有点后悔将家里的那个超级无敌大饭锅送给我。

“你们平时才两个人吃饭，用这个饭锅太费电了！”

结果，她回家才没多久，就whatsapp我一张小小电饭煲的照片，说那是买给我的。

我们才两个人，用不着两个电饭煲吧！

不过，太后有令，谁敢说不？就这样，我们提着小电饭煲老远坐飞机带进新加坡。

很可爱的小电饭煲

我看它这么可爱，周二下班就决定试试。结果的结果，失败到贴底！盒子里的说明不清不楚，结果我的饭煮来煮去都熟不了。更别说上层的蒸肉⋯⋯我气傻，打电话向妈妈投诉。左等右等，从很有时间，到肚子饿的咕咕叫，只好放弃，把饭全倒了，下楼打包去。

第二天，我还是不放弃。按着说明书和朋友的指示在做一次。结果，说明书里的一杯米一杯半水是完全错误的，我们两人只好吃湿湿粘粘的饭⋯⋯男人很好，把饭都给吃完，而我呢，实在忍无可忍，吃了一半倒了。

第一天煮不熟，第二天太湿，第三天应该对了！

结果的结果，第三天终于成功！不过，由于我有点担心这饭锅需要的水比别家的多（说明书实在写的太多），我煮半杯米，加了比半杯多一点点的水。有点湿，不过过得去，我把饭都吃完了～

因此，今天第四天， 我深信自己一定成功，我真的成功好好的用这个可爱的小饭锅了！

把材料都丢进锅

材料：

1. 四格的米加四格的水 （我一个人吃）
2. 半条小腊肠
3. 半个马铃薯／土豆
4. 一把green peas
5. 一丁点酱油（少过一茶匙，因为腊肠已经很有味道）

把腊肠用热水烫一烫，再浸冷水，然后把外皮去掉（都是妈妈教的！）。把腊肠和马铃薯切丁，然后将所有材料倒进锅里，稍微搅拌。在外锅令加一杯水，把盖子盖上，开电。这样子大概要煮半小时。煮好以后，把饭留在饭锅里大约5－10分钟，就有香喷喷的饭啦～

等待的同时，我煮了一小碗的蛋花汤。然后就窝在沙发上看电视，做“沙发上的马铃薯”！

这种煮法很适合我这个懒人，尤其下班回来，懒惰了，这样煮最容易。不过，这样的煮法真的不能天天煮，我看没到一个星期我就厌了。

男人偶尔也会买东西

上周我们在商场逛逛，最重要是想看看行李箱。蜜月假期快到了，可是我俩连行李箱都没有，吃了晚餐边走走看看。怎么知道，行李箱没买成，反而买了护肤品！～

是这样的，有个男人走向前送了我们两块香皂，然后，请我们入店里帮我们洗手。大概是这个男人天天帮好多人洗手吧，他的手真的很滑很滑！男人说有点恶心，哈哈！我们也知道他一定会推销产品，我已经立定铁下心肠要说不。他可厉害，从护手，说到护指甲，再说到护脸…… 当真一样一样说，一样一样示范。我的右手，搽了这个、又抹了那个，很忙～

结果，男人买了这个给我！



然后，销售员送我们这个。



不是我要买的哦，男人说我没有用这些，让我去死皮才买给我的哦！

此产品的价格可不便宜！那罐facial peel标价三位数，然后才假假降点价格给我们。男人买的时候大概是$80-90左右吧。至今用了两次，觉得好像有效（不知道是否心理作用），皮肤有好象比较滑一些。

其实都有看过这家店的，好像还曾经拒绝他们的免费香皂。男人说他看过此产品的文章，大概是报章上吧。既然是给皮肤敏感的人，他觉得我可以试试。我们就试咯～

此产品是Israel来的，公司派来的销售员，也都是那里人。我也是一边洗手，一边聊天，认识了第一个Israeli。他告诉我们那里有多美多美，我们告诉他马来西亚有多好多好～反正，我们这辈子也去不了对方的国家！哈哈哈！

Darth Vader

Khoo Siblings have always been huge fans of Star Wars. And we think Darth Vader is the coolest villain of all!

Since it's a lazy Sunday, and I've been telling myself to pick up my camera again for fun things. I decided to take some photos of this new addition Darth Vader of mine. It's a Bobble Head Darth Vader from Ah Beng when I visited San Francisco. How nice!

It's been 3 months since I had this. I moved from Commonwealth to current flat. I've went to Sipadan Island. Now, I finally picked up my camera again :)

Mini Studio Addiction

上瘾了。

我怀念的老舍茶馆。多亏欣娣经常在世界各地飞来飞去，我才有这个从北京飞来的老舍茶馆花茶。也不是为了那杯茶，也不是为了那个名字，只是纯粹为了那份回忆，那个气氛的味道，那一部部的京剧……

我不是Hard Rock的粉丝，只是上回在Dublin买手信给弟弟的时候，Hard Rock送我小小的赠品。一直都在抽屉里，不知道该拿来做什么，今天总算有点用处。

每一次到书店或文具店，看见记事本就手痒痒。十多年来，我所有的记事本大大小小，在家里的不同角落，也分布在马来西亚和新加坡。有的不舍得用，有的用了几页，有的用得七七八八。

我有很多Body Shop的产品，有的是买的，有的是送的……从头到脚。
